Surf Report For Beginner & Intermediate Surfers 15th & 16th March

Writer: Dylan WallisDylan Wallis

A small swell and light winds all weekend should mean some really fun waves! The high tide is around midday so you'll find good waves for beginners almost all day!

Beginner and Intermediate Surfers Weekend Surf Report
After School Training!

Saturday 15th March

Swell - 1m or 2-3ft

Wind - 3 - 8knts South

High Tide - 11.19am

Low Tide - 5.44pm

Saturday morning will be really glassy with less wind which suits intermediates and beginners will have good waves most of the day.

Beginners - The mid tide coming in will probably be the best option (8am onwards). I also think it will be really nice just after high tide (noon - 4pm). Expect really nice white water for learning!

Look Out!! The bigger tide this weekend might make low tide a bit tricky. Beginners should avoid 5pm - 7pm.

Advanced Beginners - The high tide will be really good, expect the opportunity to paddle out a bit further and take a few unbroken waves. 9am - 1pm should be the best.

Look Out!! Pick where you surf carefully and remember your surf etiquette.

Intermediates - There will be fun options all day. Early will have less wind, just make sure you pick the right bank on the lower tide

Look Out!! If you're surfing in the crowds remember your surf etiquette.

Sunday 16th March

Swell  - 1m or 2-3ft

Wind  - 5 - 8knts North East

High Tide - 11.50am

Low Tide - 6.04pm

Sunday has light offshore winds in the morning with a little sea breeze in the arvo. Again intermediate surfers will want to try get out in the morning with the offshore wind, beginner and advanced beginner surfers don't need to worry as much about the wind, but come for the mid to high tide for best waves.

Beginners - Again like Saturday, 9am onwards should be really good! Expect the odd powerful wave on the high tide (11.30am -12.30pm) so if you like your waves more mellow come out for 9am - 11.30am or 12.30pm - 4pm.

Look Out!! Avoid the low tide in the evening, 5pm onwards.

Advanced Beginners - Same as Saturday, High tide will be really good. 10am - 2pm should be best.

Look Out!! Pick where you surf carefully and remember your surf etiquette.

Intermediates - There will be fun options all day. Early will have less wind, just make sure you pick the right bank on the lower tide

Look Out!! If you're surfing in the crowds remember your surf etiquette.
